Our sheep
Our flock consist of 135 commercial F1 Dorset/Rideau arcott ewes & 8 purebred Rideau Arcott ewes and 25 North Country Cheviot ewes
We cross these to our Texel sires to give us a quality carcass lamb and our top quality purebred rams for replacement stock
**replacement stock will be available in 2010**
Here at Ewenique Farms lambs are available year round
Our accelerated lambing system is a 3 times in 2 years lambing.
Lambing takes place in March , July and November. Each lambing lasts 3 weeks.
Our flock is kept on a strict rotational grazing system as one flock with groups taken out for breeding and lambing purposes. These ewes are not flushed before breeding just put on a high quality pasture or hay.
Our hay is tested to make sure your ewes are getting the maximum nutrition they need.
To help with pedator control our flock is surpervised by our Maremma Livestock Guardian dog
